Is that a Japanese matchlock barrel? I am guessing a Cherry stock?
This is going to be another one to watch!

That is one neat barrel Runar. I've had little interest in matchlocks. But I'm sure you will make a beautiful gun out of it.

What wood are you using? Cherry perhaps?

I can’t really understand the practicality of matchlock pistols. It would seem very awkward to use.
Anyway, this pistol will be unique, interesting and very well made, as always.

This guy runs an interesting channel on Japanese/Samurai gunnery:

Despite having been introduced to flintlocks, they pretty much continued to use matchlocks until the Perry's Black Ships arrived.
The Tokugawa era was largely peaceful, so there was also little reason for arms development, which may also explain it.

The bronze hammer and serpentine are cool Runar. But you could skip all that. Just shoot the pistol with your left hand and set it off with a cigarette LOL.
