60 tables of the best contemporary stuff ...... and at least 30 tables of Antique rifles and stuff !!!!

The next event for those of us from the Great White North is RENDEZVOUS '08 at Heffley Creek, BC.  Heather and I, and bro Daryl leave Friday morning - wheels rolling at 4 am.  Six and a half hour drive for us.  Much longer for Dave Rase.  He'll need a good part of two days I think.

Taylor, Kamloops is 325 miles from Bremerton, Wa.  My wife and I plan on a 6 am departure time.  I am off starting Wednesday.  With this weekend being the Washington State Historical Gunmakers Guild fall conclave I am not sure if I will be packed by Tuesday or not.  I may need to take an extra day off from work to be able to leave on Wednesday or roll out early Thursday morning.  My "good" wife" ( I learned that term from you Canadians) will finalize our game plan this evening.  I vote for leaving on Wednesday and taking another day off.

Speaking of next events, if you are in the Pacific Northwest region, George Suiter will be out here teaching a 2 day hands on class on Thursday and Friday and then he will be our keynote speaker for the weekend.  You are invited to spend Friday evening, Saturday and 1/2 a day Sunday with George at the Washington Historical Gunmakers Guils fall conclave.  If you are interested, send me an email.  I am not leaving until Thursday evening.

The Lewsiburg show was outstandingc.  It's a great mid winter event, and a great show to bring your spouse.  My "good" wife has already planned to attend the second show.  The Country Cupboard Inn has a Gift Shop that she thinks is just fantastic.

I saw pictures of the Heffly Creek Rendezvous from last year (I think) and, like Lew, if I ever got there it would be difficult to get me out.  It's a forty-two hour drive from Ohio so I'll have to settle for pictures.  I hope you all have good weather and a great time.  I can't wait to see the pics!

The location of the Lewisburg show is great, you will like the Country Cupboard, a great restraunt and shops.  Also, the
hotel is very new and nice.  Also, if you are into antiquing, it's a short drive into Lewisburg which has a lot of antique
shops...the first ones you come to when driving into town are a large brick building, housing about three floors of
antiques.  It's a college town (Bucknell), rather on the pricey side, and has some good "pubs" downtown.  And, of course,
the show will be bigger and better than last year.  We're planning on having Andy Knez do another T-shirt for us, he does a great job.  Also, I think Curran is working on a neat little pin depicting that little character on our poster, can't
wait to see one.................Don

First weekend in April, the Southern Longrifle Association Second Annual Show will be held in Williamsburg, Virginia.

We plan to build on our success last May with a show just outside Richmond, and this will allow folks to visit Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown,
and Yorktown.  For those who like Civil War stuff, Richmond, Fredericksburg, and Petersburg are within an hour or so.

Last year, Wallace Gusler and Gary Brumfield had very interesting displays and both gave talks on subjects relating to the longrifle and its culture.

Hope to see some more of the ALR brethern there this coming Spring.
