Any ideas as to repair this butt plate. Can German Silver be solder?   I haven't been able to find a matching butt plate.  Thanks

Clean up the broken edges (file) cut a piece to replace the missing one, and silver solder with red heat.  Play the torch gently over the area and bring it to a dull red with control until the silver solder flows...remove heat immediately.

I second the practice comment. I had a fancy Jaeger German silver trigger guard that I needed to anneal and bend to fit stock profile. Had it clamped in vice, a chair so I could be steady, lights dimmed torch ready. I had read in a thread here to heat to just a dull red and remove heat slow to cool. Well, it was just starting to show a dull red and TINK, it melted in two and part fell to the floor. Wishing I had practiced first.
