Aged Sibley Horn on the Blogspot
« on: January 05, 2010, 06:36:19 PM »
I like aged looking horns.   If you do also, take a look at the Scott and Cathy Sibley horn on the Contemporary Makers Blog Spot today.  Just a really amazing job of aging on that horn when you look at it closely.

There are so many aged horns being made out there today - most of them still are lacking something and don't really look old when you look at them closely.  This is one of the best I've ever seen as far as replicating the patina on a 225 year old horn.  It might be a bit more extreme than some people care for, but I was blown away by how realistic it looks.

Scott and Cathy - it looks like you spent a lot of attention to every detail, on
every part of the horn, on the aging.  I like the engraving too.  I am a fan of your work in general, but this one really stands out as very unique piece.  Really nice.

It's another of one of their 'signature' horns.  Examples like this is something we expect as the norm from these wonderful creative craftsmen (&woman).  Thank you Scott and Cathy!

Thank You to all.  Horns like that are fun to do.   I have been remiss on my horn building lately (Cathy has 5 to finish) ;D,  After looking at the shops on this site I thought it was time to clean mine and build shelves and such. I have another day  of cleaning and prioritizing before getting back to horn making.
