Sweetheart Indiana sporter

Am just now revisiting a cute little Indiana-style unmarked c.1850 .32 caliber half stock I acquired quite reasonably decades ago from a local antique shop. Zeroed in on an optimum load today: 25 grains of FFFg under a 00 buckshot wrapped in a saliva-lubed pillow ticking patch. Photograph shows a three-shot group, minute of squirrel head, at 30 yards. Fourth shot was the result of me adjusting the rear sight. Ran through 25 or so rounds without cleaning before I quit. I've a bag of 00 buckshot I acquired perhaps forty years ago which will see me out and, using 25 grains, should get about 280 shots out of a can of powder. This little honey has leapt to the forefront of my favorite firearms.

Nice shooter! You should shoot the ALR online match with it.
As in life; it’s the journey, not the destination. How you get there matters most.

Now's your chance to shine. Current monthly challenge.
My .32, with a 48" ROT, required 30gr. to shoot well at 50yds.
20 and 35 would not shoot better than 2" at 50, although both shot little bug holes for 5 shots at 25yds with 20gr.3F.
50yds. needs more power to be consistent.
