I'm working on a boy's rifle and plan to model it after several Fordney rifles, including those with the horse head patchbox finial. The M. Fordney on the KRA CD shows tang carving, but from the side so only a part of the design is visible.
I'd appreciate photos or sketches of tang carving from one of the earlier Fordney rifles if anybody has some to share.
