Pouch Sewing Kit
« on: February 23, 2010, 10:21:05 PM »
This is like the brass powder chargers...only slightly different.  This is the sewing "kit" I carry in the pouch.  A couple of large needles and a spool (rosewood) of artificial sinew that fits in the same brass tubes I make as powder chargers.  Or I can use one for storing a few round balls in a pocket.

This works out well with the pick and brush set I made quite a while back as the vent pick doubles as a sewing awl.  (The awl has a brass scabbard so I can stop puncturing me.)  The whole rig has come in handy several times in the field.  I used to use dental floss / dental tape on the spool as it is tough as all get out (and I didn't care too much about being PC).  However, the artificial sinew seems to be as strong and has the added advantage of being easily divided into smaller fiber sizes for various jobs.

Do you just sit around and dream all this stuff up, or do you have an actual job? Just flat amazing stuff!

Mill Creek,

Please send me an e-mail.  I just made up a couple of these for someone else and can make a few more.

Thanks.
