Does Lowel post here?  If you do, great job!!  I love this rifle.  The snake patchbox and oversized moon is great!

I don't think he does post here, but he sure does great work.   I was hoping he would come down to our show on Saturday, but he didn't respond to our mail or e-mail.   I really like that gun also.   He really seems to know Virginia guns.

I looked at his website and the VA guns seem to be his specialty.  It's all great work and nicely finished but I really like it when someone takes a little artistic license.  I wish I could find the courage to take some chances like that.

I don't think I've ever seen him post here.Lowell is a very nice guy along with being a good gunbuilder.I shared a bench with him at Hershals house for a week.He was supposed to be at Lewisberg but the snow kept him away.I was hopeing to catch up with him there.

Yep, I agree, very cool gun. Very "Woodbury".

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

I like that he came up with his own unique variation on the captured lid patchbox.  Sort of a variation on the possible ties to the Va. Manuractory of Arms.

Lowell is a very humble yet very talented man.  When I first met him, at one of Tim's Virginia shows several years ago, I bought a rifle he had just finished. It holds and shoots better than this shooter deserves, and looks "right" enough to hang alongside antique rifles. It is always a delight to see his latest work.
