Published by Tom Rowe. The actual author, H.J. Swinney died before the project was finished and Tom compiled it as well as publishing it. A very creditable and handsome job.
The title is "The New York State Firearms Trade"

This is a five volume set of books, second to none in quality. I bought a set from Tom Rowe right after they were published. They are a bit pricey, but worth it for the serious researcher.

Yes I understand they are first rate, but not available. I own several NY rifles and all are signed however at the Baltimore show I bought a beautiful German silver mounted rifle that I believe is from NY. It is a over & under 44cal with G silver panels between the barrels & all gsilver mounts .
Engraved on all parts. Very handsome rifle and UNSIGNED!!!!
I have no clue who made it.
So the search is on.

With regards to the 5 vol. NYS Firearms Trade books, they are still available and can be obtained through Sara Loos. Her e-mail address is: bsbooks@juno.com
