It’s good to see that there are a few high rollers still out there.

Hmmm, hmmm, hmmm, hmmm, hmmm, I love this bar
-
Would have been willing to go that high, but those fees were a major deterrent.
-
Yes the cheapest out the door price IF you lived in Texas attended the auction in person and paid cash would still be over $102,000.
-
I watched that one just for fun. It's wild watching the bids climb.
-
Hawken fever!
-
I do have to say that is a VERY cool looking Hawken. I like that much better than a comparable half stock.
-
The big hoot and giggle would be if it turned out to be a Tom Dawson replica ;D ;D.Has anyone here ever wondered what it would be like to be able ti write a check and have the bank bounce instead of the check?

Bob, I believe if any here could, you be top o da list!!
I wrote one for something else ninety grand.
Aint got that now and glad of it
Best regards to all yall
BtwDaniel,
I love this barrrrr too.
One of my favs from another time, not so long ago!

That price bodes well for maintaining the value for these Hawkins! Also sounds like two old geezers trying to outdo the size of each others pouch! :-)
Me, I'd rather take the bucks and use it for partial payment on a new Italian sports car! ;D 8) ;D

Here is the one from last weekend:

That one brought $120,000.
Clearly there is some real demand for full-stock Hawkens!

Other than some historical significance, I don't understand the prices these plain utilitarian rifles fetch. Did Hatchet Jack cause this? Maybe some day I will be enlightened. I would much rather have Christian Hawken, which was made in Hagerstown, Maryland.
-
John...or, you could just sell your fancy Jeep and get a half-way decent Hawken. Are you already missing the obscene speed you could get out of that Ferrari? ;)

Yeah!!!

Hi,
What a great historical piece but definitely not my cup of tea regardless of price. Like single malt Laphroig scotch, it is an acquired taste.

Gee Wiz. Years ago I thought I would like to own an John or Joe Manton. I wonder what they might fetch ?b :-\

;D I really like the Jeep, but a 296gtb would look nice in my garage! ;D
Going for a ride with Mike D on the 17th.
And I agree, a nice C. Hawken would look great hanging on the wall!

Right now in Britain they go might go pretty cheap.

I must be too easy, I acquired a taste for the smoky stuff before I drank the contents below neck level. :)

I am always on the hunt! Not at them prices however

What kind? Cased pistols? Shotgun? Half-stock rifle? Some of the Manton guns are certainly very expensive, but there are often examples that a fairly reasonable.:

If it actually sold ?
-
If what sold? The Hawken. Yes, the price realized of $94,000 is listed on the website.
-
That was a great looking Hawkin but for the price I'm happy with the one ken Netting made for me, copied from an original. Walnut stock cut in 1946, Bill Large barrel and all hardware made by Eddie Myers including brazed butt plat lock and triggers.

I've posted pictures before taken in the 80s of a Christian Hawken rifle a friend of mine owned. A rare bird I would think.
