It’s good to see that there are a few high rollers still out there.

Would have been willing to go that high, but those fees were a major deterrent.

Yes the cheapest out the door price IF you lived in Texas attended the auction in person and paid cash would still be over $102,000.

I do have to say that is a VERY cool looking Hawken.  I like that much better than a comparable half stock.

The big hoot and giggle would be if it turned out to be a Tom Dawson replica ;D ;D.Has anyone here ever wondered what it would be like to be able ti write a check and have the bank bounce instead of the check?

That price bodes well for maintaining the value for these Hawkins! Also sounds like two old geezers trying to outdo the size of each others pouch! :-)
Me, I'd rather take the bucks and use it for partial payment on a new Italian sports car!  ;D 8) ;D

Here is the one from last weekend:

https://www.rockislandauction.com/detail/88/3209/s-hawken-signed-fullstock-percussion-rifle
That one brought $120,000.

Clearly there is some real demand for full-stock Hawkens!

Other than some historical significance, I don't understand the prices these plain utilitarian rifles fetch. Did Hatchet Jack cause this?  Maybe some day I will be enlightened. I would much rather have  Christian Hawken, which was made in Hagerstown, Maryland.

John...or, you could just sell your fancy Jeep and get a half-way decent Hawken.  Are you already missing the obscene speed you could get out of that Ferrari?   ;)

Hi,
What a great historical piece but definitely not my cup of tea regardless of price.  Like single malt Laphroig scotch, it is an acquired taste.

;D I really like the Jeep, but a 296gtb would look nice in my garage! ;D
Going for a ride with Mike D on the 17th.
And I agree, a nice C. Hawken would look great hanging on the wall!

I must be too easy, I acquired a taste for the smoky stuff before I drank the contents below neck level.  :)
