Tho. Cordis ?

This is the lock on my model 1816 conversion. Does anyone have information concerning Thos. Cordis? I have seen another 1816 conversion with his lock. There was a Thomas Cordis in manufacturing around the Boston area...I believe in the 1840's...so I am assuming it is the same. He must have received a contract to do the conversions...does anyone have any info on the date and how many? Also...has anyone ever seen one of his locks on a civilian gun or anything other than a model 1816?

Thomas Cordis was involved in Mills and was involved in Hardware..So I am guessing he either imported these locks or had local craftsman make them and put his name on them..I doubt he converted any of them..
