Half stock 36 cal rifle ID?

I got this rifle with a group of guns in N. Mississippi. It is a very distinct crescent butt and raised comb on the stock. A friend said it may be a "soddy Daisey" rifle. From all I have seen I think it is something other than that. The lock has faint letters (L A N) which looks to be a portion of the name or word. It is about 36 caliber and has set triggers and is heavy as lead. This barrel must weigh 10 lbs. Pictures on Flickr here:

Not a Soddy, and without a name, and a bit more info to me it looks like an 1830's or there a bouts East Tennessee. The lock is typical imported hardware. Appears to be walnut stocked. Nice find. That's my uneducated guess.
