Searles inspired Bowie Knife
« on: November 03, 2019, 09:10:58 PM »
Forged this one a couple of months ago but finally got around to finishing it yesterday.  It is a Searles inspired Bowie. 9 1/4"x 1 1/2" x 3/16" 1084 hi carbon forged blade, 14" overall length with file worked oval nickel guard, rosewood handle, with coin silver bolster and end cap.

Nicely done -- I also like the lines of the Searles Bowies and this one does not disappoint!

thank you gentlemen.  The Searles has always been one of my favorite designs.  I love the rosewood, but I am working towards attempting the actual Searles design with the ebony handle, the silver pins, checkering and intricate silver bolster and end cap.  I think it will be a goal for 2nd half of 2020.
