« on: October 27, 2023, 02:20:48 AM »
If you have a Rice 50 cal C weight please measure your ft and rear sight height for me
I'm getting tired of making sights I don't know why I'm having such a hard time
Thanks

Make them the same height above the centre of the bore to start.
The front sight might need a minor amount of filing to get it on.
Depends much on what range you want it sighted for.
Level will likely be close to dead on at 25 and maybe 1/2" high at50.
My .50 is a Rice Gun-maker's barrel. C-weight is a heavier one.
Taylor's .50 Rice on his Voluptuous Virginia is a C weight, I think.
Much also depends on how you see sights.  It Taylor's rifle is zeroed at 50yards for him
it will shoot 2" low for me.

Rice makes a lot of different barrel profiles that have a "C weight" in .50 caliber. You need to more specific as to the barrel profile.
The Virginia profile is the same for all the available calibers. It makes for a heavy .50 caliber rifle.

Close to 12 pounds.
