Hi,
Thanks Jim and James.  I appreciate you guys looking and commenting.  Here is a little grouping of English pistols, two I made and one original.  They represent the English styles I really am inspired by namely turn-off pistols, horse pistols, and dueling pistols. I hope to add a horse pistol from about 1700 to that group.  Anyway, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

The barrel unscrews and powder and ball are placed in the breech, then the barrel screwed back on for firing.  If you look through the entire thread I show photos of the breech.

The pistol arrived safe and sound at Fort Dobbs and is now on display in the officer's quarters among Hugh Waddell's papers.  It looks like it belongs.

Great work I love every bit of it. Way back maybe in another life time I wanted to make a small pocket pistol with the turn-off design, box lock, side hammer, and cap lock. Well that will be #3 or is it #4 in line. Thank you for reviving that thought and sharing with us your great work.

A bit off subject (BTW...the pistol is fantastic!!) but how did the Fort fair from the NC rains?  Hopefully no damage.

Fort Dobbs was not damaged in Helene.  The main areas of storm damage were well west of the site.
