Daniel I have had my hands on several Soddies and really like their looks. Just can't remember details of the locks, trigger guard, and other furniture. I am building a percussion and had never paid attention to the shape of a percussion lock or the hammer and that is why I ask for some pictures and you provided some good ones and I thank you for it.
JTR I do not have advanced forging skills but have been making southern mountain rifle parts for myself for sometime. and yes I have built a grand total of two locks don't remember how may double set double phase trigger assemblies I have made. I do know what it takes to build a lock and it's very time consuming. Thanks for your response.
I promised Jack Dupree two years ago that I would build this rifle and an antique tractor restoration project got in the way because I grew up using this tractor and it was on my bucket list and my time is getting very short quickly. The tractor is almost complete and rifle parts making is already under way.
