A very fine gun by a relatively unknown or rarely seen Baltimore,  Maryland gunsmith, Peter Lydick.

What an incredible find! I didn't know till tonight that he had made any long rifles. If any civilian gun, I'd have guessed fowling pieces perhaps bordering on punt guns/ Boy! would I love to have permission of this gun's owner to use! If owner reads this kindly advise if I can use these photos. jwhisker@embarqmail.com

There was a Philip Lydig who was briefly an arms supplier to MD who died [or was killed] in 1779.
