"Flourishes of a Different Fashion" by Dick Toone, Muzzle Blasts, May 2004.

Barrel is 40" octagon to round, large (.60+) bore, stock 'looks like' American black walnut (I do remember it being pretty coarse when it was at Washington's Crossing).

As of May 2004, they were attributing it to Adam Angstadt because of the way the curved carved lines were shaded (it looks like relieved with small slicing cuts w/ a knife to me).  Quite a wild stretch.

Had been found at auction in 1994, laying up in attic of old 18th century house "for many years", apparently property of Reynolds family who trace their ancestry back.

That's it in a nutshell.
Strange women lying in ponds, distributing swords, is no basis for a system of government!
