Whew!  Man I thought I'd be the only one bringin the missus.  Finally talked her into taking a small summer trip to dixons this year and can't wait to see all the goodies and finally meet some of you folks in person.  Just one question:  is there camping available on site or nearby?  Worse comes to worse we'll stay at a nearby motel or I can send the missus to Lancaster to visit dear old friends.  Sigh, the choices we have to make.  Hope to see most of you there.

There are a few campsites around the area. Check Dixon's web site, I believe they have them listed...Geo.

I stayed at 'Blue Rocks' campground one year, pretty close to DIxon's. There is a great ancient rockslide, like a run of a mile of the huge boulder that came off the nearby mountaintop. Rocks as big as a car, all jumbled, about a hundred yards wide and pretty long, right up to the mountaintop.

Hotel is a lot more comfortable now, so that's what I'm doing.

Kunk, what's WRT?

Anyway, please come and visit, sit and take a load off. I will be there most days except Sat, and I know Rich will be there, except when he's not.

I think Eric von A is planning to come. I hope so. He's been chasing girls, I think. He is scheduled to give his presentation on Drawing the Longrifle again, so he better show up.  ;D

Fun to think about on these grey days!

Too bad Brian Dancy can't make it this year.  And it's the first year the nursing college down the road is hosting the keg party and skinny dip.

Darn the bad luck.

See the rest of you there!

And Daryl told me he is traveling light, breech clout and mocs.  Should be easy to get through airport security........unless you have a bunch of tin cones on that clout, then you might have to remove it to get through the metal detector. :o

Aaahhhh, Dixon's, one of the big highlights of the year...  can't wait!  Looking forward to seeing everyone and meeting new folks as well.  I'll be up Friday to take in Taylor's "wire inlay" talk for sure.

Acer - Hear anything from young Eric?  Do you know if he'll be making the trip?

You bet your butt I'm gonna be there... How could I miss Dixon's!?!?  I was sad to miss the Lewisburg show, but academics got in the way (@!*%!).

Acer's right, I have been chasing a woman, caught her in fact!  That's not why I've been neglecting the ALR though... school takes up so much of my time.  Sometimes I wonder if it's actually for me or if I should be doing something else.  I'm sure we all go through that.

I'm on spring break from the 14th to the 22nd, so I'll be spending some time in my shop working on a fowler, to be finished for Dixon's.

I'm actually attempting to line up an "independent study", in which for 2-4 credits I'll study longrifle history and artwork on my own.  My teachers sometimes get excited when they hear I build longrifles, then seem surprisingly disappointed when I say that I don't have any with me.

This weekend it was in the 70's in Asheville, NC... last week it snowed.  I don't get it!  I've got a biology lab to write up though, so time to sign off.  Hope everyone is doing well, Acer's been doing a good job keeping me informed of the important stuff!

This thread makes me anxious to get back to work, feels like I work all spring and summer just to save money to spend that weekend.  Between Dixons and the vendors and Cabelas up the road  it's a sure wallet emptier.   :o
