Installing a bbl.liner

Has anyone  bored a bbl out and installed a smaller caliber liner, and if so what kind of epoxy did you use, and where can I get this product?

I installed a .31 cal. liner in a .50 cal. barrel blank and soldered it in.  As far as epoxies, Acra-Glas should work and Devcon makes several epoxies that will work.

I've bored out a few, and installed liners with Loc-Tite 609 retaining compound. This was with a close fit between hole and liner. It looks like 620 would be better with gaps up to .015"

This was for a cartridge gun. For a M/L I see no issue as long as the hole and liner are a reasonably good fit, and there are no air bubbles in the adhesive.

Once did a Redman liner in a 25-20 Marlin.  I used JB weld.

I lined a few damascus barrels. I use loctite sleve locker. It is the same stuff they use for putting sleeves in diesel engines. You can buy it at the NAPA auto store. There is a prep that you are supposed to use with it.

Guys,

This topic has been addressed several times.  The short answer for me is to use slow setting epoxy glue, not the fast setting 5 minute stuff.  Here are a few of the topics where this issue was discussed in the past.

I hope that this helps.
