Yes, but as I said, I want to collect what I can by myself and will only buy a kit if I just cant find my needed materials for...lets say, a year. But thats probably even too short. They cut down trees over here is Spring and in Fall. So, unless there was a storm or something, I have only a few months per year where it makes sense at all to look for fresh stuff.
And I want to keep it period/location correct (where I can, sometimes I cant), therefore Quebracho is not really an option. But walnut maybe. Is it being mentined in the local literature?
I wish Black Locust would work. It would be much easier to get that stuff. I even have some Black Locust bowstaves with their bark on, which I harvested by myself and which were always in my cellar since then.
