Thanks for sharing your toys! Your parents raised you right!

Bore size and barrel length? Does this fall close to the Soddy Daisy style?

I think hilbly must have a rifle mine somewhere down there.  Goes out from time to time with a pick and shovel and digs up a "new" one. :o

Am I looking at Va. on this one Hillbilly ?
That’s almost a home rifle for you buddy, right across the state line I’d guess. You could probably stand on your deck and see where it was made.
Nice rifle Gerald!

Nothing and I mean NOTHING about this gun looks Soddy. The “lines” you see are reflected sunlight.

Wow. If I could pick one from that region, that would be it. Very nice

I went back and looked up some Soddy rifles so I could point out what I thought looked similar.  Which are 1) mostly the thick top of the buttplate heel, and 2) the straight line from wrist to buttplate with the cheekpiece top exactly in line.

In my 56 years of collecting, I have owned several Soddy rifles. I am aware of what they look like.

Yeah, in my 3 years I'm trying to learn.  Can you explain why you say "Nothing and I mean NOTHING about this gun looks Soddy. The “lines” you see are reflected sunlight" yet I point out 2 features that look Soddy? Could these features originated in NC and later moved over the divide to TN?

I agree with Gerald. This gun is elegant, the triggers, guard, inletting, profile (especially the butt) look northwestern NC to me. The workmanship is superior to most Soddy guns. The wood work is exceptional. It’s a graceful rifle to say the least.

I think the stock profile and box details are very revealing. Does anyone have a photo of a Sam Glover patchbox? Although I think this rifle predates Glover’s work.
