Meshach Browning’s autobiography is one of my favorite reads. Supposedly his rifle is at the Smithsonian. Does anyone know where you could see photographs of it?

Sorry, I don't know. But, here is a rifle that Meshach's grandson built. Looks a lot like the Benson's rifles from Preston County West Virginia. Abel was a later maker who lived close to the Bensons. If you find a photo of Meshach's rifle, post it here, I would like to see that myself.

Which rifle? He had more than one in his career. He talked about a silver mounted rifle and one that shot a one ounce ball and maybe another one or two.

I have a friend who's ancestor was Meshach. Pretty interesting. His book is great!
