Central Indiana gunmaker: V.H.Brown

Anyone have knowledge of this maker? I have a .36 cal swamped octagonal 41" rifled barrel, Joseph Golcher cap lock, iron fixtured, no cap box, straight comb, dark curly maple cut full stock rifle made circa 1850? Any applicable info will be appreciated.  Thanks,  Bub

Could the "V" be misread and the name actually be W. H. Brown? If so, William H. Brown was a gunsmith working at Perrysville in Vermilion County, Indiana, in the 1850s and was listed as such in the 1850 census.    Shelby Gallien, Indiana

W H BROWN later worked in Danville, Vermilion County Illinois.  (Only a "stone's throw" from Perrysville, IN) Several other makers in that area either worked for or were apprenticed to William H Brown.  I have a signed fullstock rifle by him.
