YoungGuy,
The first time I seen this Young rifle it was at the Lake Cumberland show. It was open to look at for a few minutes. The next time I seen it Frank had it. I purchased an iron mounted rifle a few years back that had the barrel and lock with Youngs name on them. It is iron mounted with a similar set of triggers, guard, and butt plate as the rifle Frank's rifle. The lock plate and side plate are like those on the rifles made by Young that are more fancy. The butt plate is cut for a sliding patch box like on Frank's rifle. I think my rifle was restocked by Elisha Green sometime in the past, and have been considering restocking it with a walnut stock like Frank's rifle. I contacted Frank and asked if he would send me a profile and dimensions of his rifle for reference, and he sent me a life size profile of his rifle with all the dimensions I would need to do the work. I really appreciated Frank's help. It has been a couple years ago when Frank sent me the info, so I am not sure he still has the rifle. I think Frank restored his rifle to its current state.
