Upcoming Log Cabin Shop Class
« on: October 18, 2010, 12:59:36 AM »
Ian Pratt and myself will be offering a class next month for anyone interested in learning how to forge iron mounts.

Using basic blacksmithing tools and techniques, each student will learn how to forge an authentic trigger guard and butt plate for a Tennessee style rifle. Topics covered will include historic details, basic blacksmithing skills, forge welding and brazing.

Minimal tools required, coal and metal will be provided.

Blacksmithing experience a plus, but not a requirement.

The class will be in the barn at the log cabin shop. The dates are November 13 and 14 9:30am to 4 pm each day.
Each student should have a set of mounts to use for building a rifle by the end of the class.
If anyone is interest in signing up call 1-800-837-1082 which is the number for the log cabin.
Thanks for looking,
Marc

I sure would like to make it up to beat some iron and smell some sulfer but it's a little far.   Hats off to you guys for doing these classes.
