Visited a friend yesterday who pulled out a nice full stock percussion rifle
that he said was his great grandfathers. Relief carved, eagle inlay on the cheek and 4 half moon escutcheons on each side of the stock along with a nice 4 piece patchbox, some wrist inlays and another brass inlay in front of
the trigger guard that wraps up onto the forestock. Nice wear plate and
beautiful tiger maple. The lockplate appears to be brass and is stamped
Pennsylvania Rifle Works. Barrel stamped in block letters 3 times with
A. Strawvick. Engraving around sights. Just a beautiful gun. Can anyone
tell me about the maker? Understand he worked in the Butler County, PA
area.
