Its been a great 2 years from the “grand opening of the “ALR Virtual Museum and Library" of Original Kentucky Rifles. Far greater success , with your contributions of guns and kowledge, than The Committee could have imagined:
1. The largest display of original Kentucky rifle, in color and detail, published anywhere ( about 350 so far) and with "vetting" and discussion ( can not occur in any other media)
2. A very reliable source for students and collectors to refer to. ( we are known and often referenced)
3. Many, many compliments from the ALR members. ( Thank you)
4. Identification of almost 20 descendents who have begun to prepare in depth biographies of their gunmaker relatives. 2 complete : Shreckengost and Neuhardt ,3 or 4 pending
5. Significant increase in ALR members...~2400 from 1500 last year as a result of all of the ALR activities, administrators, moderators and members.
6. Generation of significant discussion and teaching about Kentucky Rifles, etc that had no homebase or distribution route except in published media ( which did not respond, as the ALR does, immediately to questions.)
7. A repository to store and provide open access to unpublished information, perhaps only known to a few or single person
7. DEBATE!!!
8. Many old and new friends.
9. And much MORE!!!!
10. With luck , 2 new surprises for 2011!!!!
