Guy covered it well, it's a beautiful piece of wood and a well laid out rifle , with about the best lock out there, so you will enjoy shooting it. I wouldn't change a thing. Check out Chambers site to see the differences between the Germanic, and English locks. You can then check Steve Bookouts web site to get an idea about how to make it more correct. I totally agree with the others, no silver, unless maybe a cheek piece inlay, it's just not done on southern rifles of that era 1800-1830. Enjoy the fun of shooting a rocklock.
