Well, I'll be the first.  It's gorgeous! I love the effect created by all detailed incised work, veining and chip cuts.  It creats a very rich look.  Think I'm the one who might need to try harder!  Thanks for posting this.

Now that's pretty!  Love the mix of incised and low relief, with subtle molding cuts.  Just great!

James, you've said a mouthful there.  There is a lot to this work of carving art, and Allen, you have outdone yourself.

Love this dueling carving...bung a bung bung bung.

I think Allen's channeling some original makers.  He probably does it at night with candlelight, special chants and incantations.

I can't begin to tell you all, just how pleased I am.  Mr Martin is an artist, beyond compare.  AND one $#*! of a great guy, and just a bit of a comedian. :P
As you've probably already guessed, I am just chomping at the bit to get this beauty in my hands.

Oh, and just one more thing...... she's all mine.... nanner, nanner, nanner!!

Sorry, couldn't resist.  8) ;) ;D

AMartin, ever consider making replica casts of your carvings? Jim Kibler?  It's another great way to lose money, I am sure, but what a resource study piece these castings would be.

In other words, that is truly spectacular, Allen. Very rich in variety of cuts, and in design. Man, oh, man.

Wouldn't it be cool to be able to go back 200 years and carry that to a shooting match !!!!
You probably couldn't shoot because of everybody crowding around to look at the rifle.

ANOTHER amazing carving pic!  Just curious, but how small are those veiners and gouges you're using?  I'll never get close to that kind of work, and I want to use my lack of tools as an excuse! :D

I'm with you Dr Delbert! Break my fingers and move on.That is some serious carving work. Almost took my breath away! One of the reasons I like doing plain Southern guns! I have a rock hard piece of #5 maple from Tiger Hunt that I'll try for my first Lehigh, just hope I don't turn it into a $5.00 table lamp!
