daryl;  sorry i forgot to include that, its a steel swinger, about 1ft square 1/2 " thick, the shape of a bucket. its shot at 200 meters, the guys seem to enjoy it.we throw this into the match, every once in a while, instead of the 25yd paper shoot. both or 50/50 matches

Well count me out. At 200 Meters I don't think I could even see a target that size.  ;D

Micah - 200 is easy if you've got a 'bore' rifle.  Maybe even a boar rifle would suffice.

Daryl, this sounds like a good candidate for a Heffley Creek event!

Sounds like the "miss and you're out" shoots we used to have about 30 years back--but at about 75 to 100 yards. We gave them up because so many new shooters got one shot and were done. I seem to recall having been in that group more than once.  ;)

Is that the sort of rules we're talking about here?

the bucket shoot is challeging but fun, believe it or not, someone hits the bucket the first match,so money don't ride over to the next.alot of the fellas come @!*% close to hitting it though. believe it or not, the bucket is easy to see but not easy to hit. we're thinking of a 100 meter egg shoot, but thats up in the air for now. but if you wanta shoot with a bunch of great guys, stop in and say hi and give it a try

We've run a 74 yard egg shoot - ran the prize money up to $150.00 or so, and then Taylor won it. That means $300.00 was collected before it was won - $5.00 per shot. After Taylor hit the egg, Len and I both hit the remnants of the shell, him with his .54 Longrifle(one of Taylor's) and my with the .58 Pedersoli Double Rifle - from nothing for months, then 3 in a row - except Len and I won nothing! :'(

well fellas; we had our 200 meter bucket shoot, and 8 shooters shot their hearts out . it was surprizing how close we all came to hitting it. three of our shooters hit it, which involved a paper shoot off, all had fun, i think we'll try a 100 yd egg shoot next, it seems the buckets too big!

Why's that? Is it the extra $0.03 exchange to make up a US dollar from a Canadian dollar? :D

Considering the rifles built by people on this board, 200 yards would be like taking candy from a baby!! :)
