A 50th Wedding Anniversary Flintlock
« on: July 27, 2011, 07:08:25 AM »
Carl asked me to build a .50 flintlock for Carole for their 50th wedding anniversary.  The rifle has a 38 inch .50 Rice B weight barrel, a Classic Ketland lock, and a single trigger which I described in the Tutorial "Trigger Problems and Solutions" on June 13, 2010.  I adjusted the trigger depth and the release is now about 3 pounds, very good.

There is a heart-shaped sterling silver thumb plate engraved "50".

The eagle is one of Carole's porcelain hat pins.
The rifle weighs 6 and 3/4 pounds.

It's not every girl that would smile when given a rifle for a 50th anniversary gift. Pretty darn special.
