Happened to run across a small time wood dealer on the west coast that may be of use to some of you beginning builders looking for low priced wood for a first time project. In fact he may have good wood for more advanced projects. Here is his contact information:
Chuck Miller
685 NW Maple Way
Stevenson, Wa. 98648
Miller Pacific Hardwoods LLC
(509) 427-4898 | (503) 449-2068 cell

Dennis, thanks for the tip. Stevenson is right on the way to my elk hunting area, about 45 min from home. Frank

He's on E-bay too.  Bought some beech rough-cut pistol stocks from him and a walnut pistol stock recently.  Very good prices and he seems to know how to grade the moisture levels.

His E-bay seller ID is mphmkt (all lover case).

Many of them cried; "Me no Alamo - Me no Goliad", and for most of them these were the last words they spoke.
