Looking for information on John G Knecht (gunsmith)

I was informed of this sight by a member of the home shop machinist forum.
I have a muzzle loader built by John G Knecht sometime around 1860-1880 in Canal Dover Ohio. I am trying to find more information on this person.

1850 Christian Knecht, 29 born in Germany: Jane, his wife 40 born in Ohio Dover Township (US Census)

1860. John C, Knecht, 40 gunsmith, born in Germany; Jane 50, born in Ohio, his wife: William 8, born in Ohio. Canal Dover (US Census)

1878 John Christian Knecht, gunsmith. Canal Dover

1892 John lived with his brother at Canal Dover.  John also appears in the US census of 1880. 

Likely your gunsmith.  This volume didn't show any examples of his work.  tim
