Hardware Parts- Buttplates and Triggerguards
« on: May 17, 2012, 07:46:48 PM »
I bought a Dickert buttplate from TOTW and then I bought a #8 buttplate from R. Goehring. Shocking difference. I love RG parts. Have bought several since. RG offers a lot, but he doesnt offer everything. Are there other places to buy great quality products like RG offers, but in different styles/schools? Just checking. I only buy from RG, but I thought I might ask. By the way, I he is a great guy, and I love his hardware for LRifles.

Some of the cleanest castings I have, I got from Knobmountain at Dixons Fair. He also sells jigs for doing your own ramrod pipes.

Yes, I have heard his castings are excellent. I have been meaning to get that ramrod mandrel. I need it along with some 60" ramrods.

I prefer not to mix and match buttplate and guard suppliers as there will be color differences when done.  Reeves' castings are very soft and workable compared to most others.

Yes, Rich, RG has the finest I know of. I was just wondering if there are others who come close.

I used RE Davis Buttplate and trigger guard for my build and was very pleased.
