While this is one of John Vincent's less embellished pieces, it is nonetheless a fine example of the basic rifle that he offered his clientele. It appears to be as well built as any of his other guns suggesting that quality was the primary factor in his building. While a working gun, it is in very good condition and this could lead to a conclusion that his rifles were highly useful and accurate, and as a result were well cared for by the owner. I have seen only one 'rough' John Vincent rifle. This piece should be sent on to the Library as an excellent example of his work.

A very nice, though fairly plain, Vincent rifle. The quality and graceful architecture speak for themselves.
