If its not made in Europe or America I would avoid it.

Martin,

Industria de Material Belico do Brazil - IMBEL

IMBEL is a privately owned company in Brazil.  Centered mainly on military munitions, etc.

Thanks for the answers.
I will buy some and try it.
They make BP for mining? and hunting industry, so I hope I can use it in my rifles.
I have been using argentine BP (InKael FFFg) the best powder (I can get here. ;) ).
Thanks
Martin

Martin,

I am assuming here that you live somewhere in South America.

I had looked at an IMBEL black powder product list back in 1990.  They did not list any "hunting" powders.  Only military and industry powders.

When I was doing technical work for the old S/A Pernambuco Powder Factory I was told that there was another black powder producer in Brazil but that their hunting powder was not as good as that made at the Elephant plant, the S/A Pernambuco Powder Factory.
The "hunting" powder made originally at the S/A Pernambuco Powder Factory was better suited to shotguns and large caliber musket type small-arms.  It took them several years to change their powder to what would be a rifle type/burn rate powder for the U.S. market.

You might want to search around for:
Elephant Industria Quimica, LTDA
Barreirus, Pernambuco, Brazil

The machinery from the old S/A Pernambuco Powder Factory, Reciefe, was moved to a new plant which went into production several years ago.  I had looked at a sample of their powder two years ago.  A little slower than our GOEX but no difference in bore fouling characteristics.  The U.S. company looking at more recent production claims it is just as fast as GOEX and little difference in bore fouling.

So as far as black powder being produced in Brazil you have more than IMBEL to look at.

Thanks for the information,
Im in Argentina so I have to get what the importers want to.
I hope I could find Elefant powder.
I will try to contact them, in case they have some representatives here.
Thanks
Martin
