Rebuilding a Swedish M/1815-49 Musket
« on: December 16, 2012, 08:18:41 PM »
Hi Guys!
Here is a Swedish M/1815-49 converted from flint to percussion in 1849. It have missing parts, I begin with the barrelband( The steelsheetband made by a redneck is ugly :() So I make new ones from 1,5mm brass copying from my flint musket.

Very nicely done! I am always pleased to see your posts runastav, keep up the good work and show us more.

I do have to ask if you will be reconverting it to flint? I hope not, the percussion conversion is a standard military conversion and is part of the gun's military use as a standard Swedish weapon - but you know that already. We don't see many Swedish guns of the pre-1865 period here in the US.

Hi Guys, and thank you TPH!
You can take it easy, it will not be reconverted ;) So all 3 barrelband is finish. The lover band have ramrod brake spring innside.

The loverband missing lockspring, made new one from a Norwegian 1894 Krag lockspring ;)

I split part of the Swiss musket off and started a new topic on brazing with a Turbo Torch. See this link: http://americanlongrifles.org/forum/index.php?topic=24677.msg236136#msg236136

Hi guys, and thank you AJ!
The thread hole for nipple in barrel was bad, so I made a new nipple a size up to 9-1,25 mm
