The management at Ft. Boonesborough State Park has agreed to let us use the Blockhouse again this year for an ALR get-together.  We will be meeting on Saturday, January 26, from 9am to 4pm, with a break for lunch, maybe at Hall's again?

All ALR members and anyone that's interested in the study, building, shooting, etc. of long rifles, horns, bags, knives, etc. is welcome.  Please bring works in progress, recently completed pieces, items for sale or trade.

In past years we've had from 10 to 15 attendees, but we can accommodate more, and we always have a great time, so please come and join us.  We usually try to have some tutorials lined up, so if anyone has any tips or how-to's they would be willing to pass along, please let me know.

I'd like to get a rough head count, so I can let Bill at the Fort know how many tables and chairs we need, so please let me know if you think you will be attending.

I'll be looking forward to seeing y'all again.

-Ron

Thanks Ron,
Looks like you picked my weekend off, so I should be able to make it.

Ron,

Please add me to the list attending. Last year's gathering was such a good time. I have cleared the calendar with my CEO, and she said okay. Look forward to getting together again.

I do wish this was closer to me. I'm in New York State but have been there shooting with the NYS flint team. It is a great place for an ALR gathering.

I am disappointed to miss this.
I just came back to Ontario from Kentucky.
Just putting some finishing touches on my Log Home up by Salt Lick.
I'll be down there from the end of Feb until after turkey season.
Then again in the fall for less then 180 days (6 months)

Sounds like we should have a good turn out.  Be sure to bring some stuff for show and tell...... works in progress or finished pieces, stuff for sale or trade, etc.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Gary, we'll miss you!  Maybe we'll have a toast to bologna and pretzels at Hall's.  ;D

Hessian, sorry you can't make it, but I'm wondering; what's a Burns Night dinner?

Here's hoping we get a few new attendees...

Glad you can make it Bill.

We had some snow/freezing precip last night and this morning but as of this afternoon the main roads in most of Central Kentucky are clear and dry.  If you can make it out of your home area, traveling on this end should be fine.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

We had a great time today.  When we arrived the folks at the Fort had a fire going in the fire place, and had coffee and pastries for us.  They really made us feel at home.

Bill brought a finished rifle and 2 that he has in progress.

Paul brought a couple of interesting antiques, with intersting questions.

Jeff brought his Lindsay Air Graver for everyone to try out.

Jeff also brought a tiny rifle he built for his son and another rifle in progress.

Kevin brought a rifle he built for his dad and another in progress.

I owe Mike, Joey and Burton an apology.  Somehow I missed getting a picture of their tables.  Mike brought a beautiful finished rifle and a copy of a Shreit rifle he is working on.  Burton brought a flint half-stock in progress with a BIG barrel.

The Fort Boonesborough Foundation is raffling a rifle built by Wayne Estes to support the archeological excavation project at the original fort site..  The flintlock rifle has a .50 caliber straight tapered iron R. Smith barrel and a fancy curly maple stock.  Tickets are $5 each or $20 for 5 tickets available at www.fortboonesboroughfoundation.org  The drawing will be held at the Fort on May 26, 2013.  You need not be present to win.  Please consider supporting the Fort Boonesborough Foundation.  Thanks.
