Woodswalk today!
« on: January 04, 2009, 11:52:47 PM »
Some of us are lucky enough to live in an area where a couple or three clubs put on w walks in winter.

Went on down the pike today to one such walk 28 shots and about 30 or 35 shooters blanket shoot targets fro 25 yds to about 130.  All offhand.  Sunny day and calm warmed up to 40 degrees (started at 23) Shot well after a shaky start and enjoyed it.

Far be it from me to rub it in BUT: Daryl and Taylor you reading this ???

Shot a trailwalk up near PGH today. In the mid 30's and off and on rain. Generally miserable day. Had 16 shooters. Good shoot, good feed, good fun.

All the trails here would require snow shoes or cross country skis now Roger.  We have as much snow as Taylor & Daryl even tho they're 500 miles north of us!  We're likely 2 months from much shooting.  :(

Glad you got to shoot today, Roger. I am rather envious of the more-balmy weather you enjoyed.

Right now the 40's would feel like the tropics.  I got sent to Kansas one winter in February for training for a job.  It was about 50 out and the natives were freezing.  I was walking with my parka open and flapping it to cool down.  -20 when I left the airport in Bemidji.  At 50 degrees the folks from Kansas did not have anything to shovel.  The cold is worse than the snow for shooting and anything around here would be a snowshoe trail.  Enjoy your trailwalks and get togethers they become special times.
