I see my double lid 29 caliber that Hershel built for Bob Filson is pictured in that article.

Pretty neat article one of the many over the years about a backwoodsy icon of the contemporary traditional muzzleloading movement! I kind of chuckled about Hershels phone number mentioned in the F&S article! He rarely ever answers it!

There was also an article on Hershel in the May 1995 Field and Stream titled House of rifles. Don't know if it
is online or not it is a decent article with more rifle pictures.

Definately thanks for the link.I met Brother House at an eastern redevoo back in 70s,and have admired him and his work ever since.Funny ,how we were all so young then,now we be the hivernans and ol timers.And,so,it is Good.Well done Dave

Took a deep liking to Hershel in a u-tube video. Wish he would show up at Friendship in a couple weeks. He's a legend in his own time.
