Original Replacement vent liners

I ran across this photo in my collection and it brought to mind an original  Jeager find one of the gun makers in our area picked up at a NV show. The curious thing was the original sliding box lid had three of these vent liners screwed in flush to the lid from the under side, just ahead of the driven in  catch spring. I regret not having my camera with me to take pictures.

Possibly made for a German gentile man headed for the frontier knowing he would have to have extras on hand?

Very cool. It shows there was an awareness of touchholes getting burned out, and needing replacement. It also shows an inventive mind at work. I can't say I've seen this before on antique work. I've seen relined, but not replaceable. Thanks.

Really nice sculpted iron work on the lock. That takes a long time to do, good vision, good tools, and a sure hand.

The thing that I wish we had done was remove one to see if it was coned on the inside of the vent liner.
