roller lock?

I recently purchased a rifle and when cleaning the lock noticed it said, Roller 67 on the inside, any know what the 67 means?

The "67" is the year 1967 the lock was made.
Does it still work after all these years?

Yes, it is on a target rifle and it is in perfect shape and was well taken care. The man I bought it from could not remember when it was used last, the late 70's maybe. It is a beautiful lock, very smooth.

I case you didn't know, Mr Roller(who answered your question) is the one that stamped the 67 on there.

That was back in the good old days wasn't it Bob. I'm not one to dwell in the past but if I could revisit a times past, I would chose one of the Mountaineer Flintlock Rifles shoots out on Blue Licks. Ed Gardner, Bill Boyd, Windy McClung, Paul Perkins, Red Clay, Eddie Bennet, Bob Roller, George Suitor, Pappy Cain and many many more. Ed Gardner was like a Dad to me, he was such a neat guy who had forgot more about muzzleloaders than most of us will ever know. Some how, most of them are gone and suddenly now we are the old timers.

Frank, out of all those you mentioned, only Windy McClung, Bob Roller and George Suiter are left. Of course we know where Bob is and George went to Williamsburg. Windy is still kicking and shooting. Actually, Windy holds a shoot every October at his place. Bob Walden and I go up every year. Mountaineer Flint lock Rifles still exists but has moved the range over to Coal River. I joined the club in the mid 70's and remember those fellers. One you didn't mention who I really miss is George Miller. A great gunsmith and a fine friend.
