New Ball Grip Scalper
« on: June 10, 2014, 02:24:43 PM »

Just finished yesterday. A plain Jane scalper style with a 8"x1 1/4"x1/8" blade of 01 steel, and a walnut grip with a deer rawhide wrap laced on with deer rawhide thong. There are two 1/8" steel cross pins through the grip and tang under the rawhide. The sheath is of vege-tan leather, welted, and sewn with linen thread having a faux field repair of dried deer hide with most of the hair shaved off, and also laced on with deer rawhide. All lightly aged to look used. Hope you enjoy a look.

Good morning Wick; Sir, really great job, as the quality and design has been your trade mark on past projects. Thanks for sharing. AL.

Very cool thank you for sharing. Both the knife and sheath look excellent. The aging or wear on the sheath is great. What weight of vegetable tan leather is the sheath?

It was bought as 6 to 7 oz, but Tandy's leather is running very uneven lately. It may be a tad thicker than that.
