Its a lefty too, left handed rifles present a different set of challenges because you have to think backwards on a number of the building opperations. A very nicely done job, i like the color and finish, its very well inlet, whats not to like.

I'm pretty sure I handled that rifle 2 weekends ago.....Ron was working on it when I stopped in.
I got to handle it and it is going to make the owner very happy! (Is it yours Brookville, if so congrats!)
Balances and points great......it fit me nicely too! ;)

Ron sure knows his way around those Bucks guns!

Outstanding work! Building a Bucks County LR requires more "handmade" parts, eg....patchbox, cheek star, entry pipe and forward pipes and usually the muzzlecap.  The TG and Bplate require modifications. Most of the brass parts cannot be purchased as is. The curled trigger is also handmade.

Ron....whose Bplate did you use? It's identical to one I use from Hedgecock. The TG I've found to be the right size for a BC wrist is Goehrings #47 which is a Verner but is modified into a Shuler w filing  the thumbnails.

You "nailed" a Bucks County w/ all it's attributes....your BC LRs are an unattainable inspiration to me.....Fred

Dang, that's a beauty Ron! I think the Verners and Bucks are hard to master- especially the incised carving as I prefer to relief carve. Your carving, color and ...........well whats not to like

     Thanks for the compliments, guys.  Fred, all the hardware came from my stash of Reaves Goehring's castings.   Dave Keck's stuff is very similar.  I have not used any of Drew's Bucks Co. castings yet.   The gun is primarily Shuler, the two headed eagle is from the Ticonderoga Shuler, but the engraving is borrowed from Verner as is the cheek piece star.  (good eye Frank).  The double set trigger is not P.C., but the client felt he would shoot the gun better with D.S. triggers.  The client will be over to pick up and test drive the gun early this coming week, he is excited, the best part of this work...

Ron, Ron regading your patchbox engraving, I like how you expanded your engraving pattern from the more common simpler propellor patterns. Sort of took it to the next level in my opinion.  Always been a fan of your work.

I just used one of Dave Keck's Verner butt plates but I'm not familiar with Hedgecock.  Could you please give me some info on that source so I can check it out?  Thanks.

I buy the BC Bplates from Dru Hedgecock because Goehring didn't have any in stock awhile back. Pictured below is a Hedgecock Bplate on a BC LR...also the TG  Goehring's #47 which is then modified to a Shuler w/ thumbnails.

Fred, nice job on that gun.   I like the trigger, right one for the gun, but, it looks like
you need to bend something to make it work.    So many builders go to great pains
to copy a gun, then put a Davis trigger on it, right  out of the box.....Don

Thanks for your compliments.  Was debating whether or not to post pics on this post....didn't want to detract from Ron's masterpiece and then thought....his work is so outstanding, my feeble efforts really won't detract one iota from his creation....Thanks again....Fred

  I love both guns.Ron's work is spectacular. Now Fred, don't cut yourself short here. Yours is more appealing to my right sided brain. That lock! It jumps out at me. How about a Bucks county barn gun,Don?
