I have only recently started going to the Gun shows in my new area and was pleased to run across a fellow who had an original half stock longrifle in about .31 cal. The barrel was about 40" long. The stock very slim over all. The thing that was striking about it was the wrist profile. For those of you that have held a"Hatfield"from Pedersoli rifle have held the same profile. I was intrigued by this fact. It was my thought that they didn't know what things should look like being on the other side of the world and yet here was an example of the same type of architecture in an 1860's original. So I have to eat crow on judging those shaped stocks I've come across in my past that were made that way. I have been scouring my books looking for similar wrist shapes. The only ones that are close seem to be from the Virginia,Ten. NC area. What Makers have you come across that have this almost diamond shape though the wrist?
