Small hunting pouch with broken strap. This is the first "cap horn" I have run across.

Joel, I can't view your pic!
Spring come to TC yet? Our snow is GONE, but expect more this weekend for our club shoot!

Howdy I fixed the first pic so deleted the second one -
nice pics.
FWIW - There are a couple of period cap horns pictured in The Plains Rifle by Hanson
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Thanks for posting the pics.  Got any idea what time frame those folders are from?

Frank, the only history I have on the hunting pouch is that it came from the area around Indianapolis Indiana. I do not know how old the folding knives are.

Hello Cap'n-Great old outfit! Thank you for showing it around. It's great to see the new work that is being done, but it's the old ones that warm the heart. You're fortunate that it still has some things left in it. Most times someone has taken them out, if anything was left.
As it happens I have a small cap flask that came out of the Washington Court House area of Ohio. I didn't recognize what it was until your post. Thank you for showing the way.
It always just looked like a small priming horn except that it resembles yours very closely. It doesn't have a powder odor in it either, it's more acrid. Someday, I'll post it.
All the best-Dick
