Most Prefered Patch Lube

For those that have used Lehigh Valley Patch Lube And Mr. Flintlock Lube................Which do you Prefer as working best for you?  Thanks.

I haven't used LVL but have used Mr Flintlock and can recommend it highly. Keeps fouling down and makes cleaning a breeze.

Mr Flintlock works great for me. Would be hard for any lube to be better.

I used to use only spit, then I tried Mr. Flintlock and although I'd like to think any improved accuracy is all me. . It does make cleaning a breeze!

Note, simply changing lubes generally will not give you the improvement you desire without re-working up the load. If going to a more slippery lube, the powder charge generally needs to be increased- that is, of course, if you are interested in actually improving the rifle's accuracy.

I used LV quite a lot before it was discontinued and liked it.  Lately, I've been using olive oil almost exclusively, and find it works very well.

I've always used spit but the older I get the less of it I have so instead of trying anything new I just shoot less. I hate change.

  I used Mr. Flintlock at one of our Shoots last Year. This Spring I used LVL , ordered from TOW. at  A Shoot in April. Truth be told, I kinda believe the Mr. Flintlock stuff worked a little better at keeping the Bore cleaner . I ran the whole 20 shot course , using Mr. Flintlock, without having to clean, but had to swab a couple times with the LVL. Accuracy was the same `cause I am not a very good shot !!

 I've been trying to get to the range and try some of Mr. Flintlocks lube but the wind has been doing 15+ the last 3 days. . Maybe tomorrow.

Years ago, I used only spit as well, Forrest.  Then Harry N. wrote his spitter had pretty much dried up and he could not produce enough, any more. Now I've reached my senior years, I am finding this out for my self. Thus, for plinking or trail walks, I usually use WWWF + a bit of oil. The oil is to reduce the evaporation in the summer time- whether that works or not, I do not know -- I do it any way & this lube shoots as well and with the same loads as spit.
If I use a slippery lube, like George's or LHV or Shenedoah lubes, I have to increase the charge 10gr. to get the same accuracy given by the water based lubes- WWWf or spit.
Make sure you check the load on a PAPER TARGET to see if you too have to change your previously good shooting load when switching back and forth between water and slippery.
