A very handsome North East Gun that must have been made in the last quarter of the 1700s. It has the classic NE profile with a cherry wood stock. The finish detailing is quite good and the maker was a real craftsman. Of particular interest is the rear sight on this: a feature not always found on these guns. The wrist shield is nicely done and the accent wire inlay sets it off very well. Everything about this piece is pleasing, including the fine English lock.
